2. Information We Collect

2.1 Camera Access

CodeForge Pro uses your device’s camera to scan QR codes and barcodes. Here’s how camera data is handled:

  • Processing: Camera images are processed locally on your device only
  • Transmission: Images are never uploaded to our servers or any third party
  • Storage: Images are not stored or saved unless you explicitly choose to save a scanned code to your history
  • Deletion: Camera data is deleted immediately after each scan is processed
  • Scanning Results: Only the text/data extracted from the barcode may be saved to your local history if you choose
⚠️ Important: The camera is only active when you open the scanner. When the scanner is closed, the app has no access to your camera.

2.2 Barcode & QR Code Generation Data

When you generate barcodes or QR codes in CodeForge Pro:

  • Data Input: Text, URLs, contact information, or other data you enter is stored locally on your device only
  • No Server Upload: Generated codes are never sent to any server
  • Local Processing: All rendering and processing happens offline on your device
  • History Storage: Generated codes are stored in your local device history so you can access them later

2.3 Local Storage & History

The App stores the following data locally on your device using secure device storage:

  • Generated QR codes and barcodes (content, format, timestamp)
  • Scanned code history (recognized content, format, timestamp)
  • Customization settings (colors, sizes, margins you set)
  • User preferences (theme, language, app settings)
  • Ad consent status (your personalization preferences)

This data is stored only on your device and never leaves it unless you explicitly share or export it.

2.4 Device Identifiers & Advertising Information

To display ads and comply with advertising regulations, the App collects:

  • Google Advertising ID (AAID): A unique, resettable identifier used by Google Mobile Ads for ad delivery and frequency management
  • Device Information: Device model, OS version, locale, and app version (used for ad targeting and analytics)
  • Non-Personal Data: App crashes, diagnostic information, and usage patterns

Important: This advertising ID is not linked to your personal identity and is managed by Google’s advertising platform.

2.5 Consent & Preference Data

We collect and manage your consent choices using:

  • Google User Messaging Platform (UMP): Records your ad personalization preferences (opt-in or opt-out)
  • Storage: Your consent choices are stored both locally on your device and with Google
  • Purpose: To comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations

2.6 Crash Reports & Diagnostics (Optional)

If crash reporting is enabled, the App may collect:

  • App crash reports and error logs
  • Performance metrics and stability data
  • Device and OS information

Important: Crash reports do NOT include: Generated or scanned barcode content, personal data, or any information that could identify you. Only technical error information is collected.

  • Data Sharing: Your Advertising ID and basic device info are shared with Google for ad targeting
  • Personalization: Ads may be personalized based on your interests (with your consent)

  • Opt-Out: You can opt out of personalized ads in the app or in your device settings

4.2 Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)

  • Purpose: Display consent forms and manage ad personalization preferences

4.3 Mobile Scanner Dependencies

  • Purpose: Enable barcode and QR code scanning functionality
  • Data Collected: None (all processing is local on your device)

🔒 Note: Data stored locally on your device remains only on your device. Even if you uninstall CodeForge Pro, your app data is removed from the device. No backups are maintained by us on remote servers.

       

6. Your Rights & Controls

You have the following rights regarding your privacy and data:

6.1 Right to Access

You can view all data stored in CodeForge Pro at any time:

  • Open the History tab to see all generated and scanned codes
  • View your customization settings in Settings > Preferences

6.2 Right to Delete

You can delete your data anytime:

  • Clear History: History tab → menu → “Clear All History”
  • Reset Settings: Settings → “Reset to Defaults”
  • Uninstall App: All app data is removed from your device

6.3 Right to Port (Export)

You can export your codes:

  • Select a code in history → “Export” → choose PDF or image format
  • Export to email, cloud storage, or other apps via your device’s share menu

6.4 Right to Ad Preferences

Control how ads are personalized:

  • In-App Control: Settings → “Ad Preferences” → toggle personalization on/off
  • Device-Level Control: Settings → Google Account → Manage Your Google Account → Data & Privacy → Ad Personalization
  • Reset Advertising ID: Settings → Google Account → Manage Your Google Account → Data & Privacy → Reset advertising ID

6.5 Right to Privacy (GDPR/CCPA)

If you’re in the EU, California, or other regions with privacy laws, you have additional rights:

  • GDPR (EU): Right to access, delete, restrict processing, data portability, and objection
  • CCPA (California): Right to know, delete, opt-out of selling, and non-discrimination

7. Security

We take your privacy and security seriously. Here’s what we do:

7.1 Local Storage Encryption

  • Your device encrypts local data using your device’s native security
  • Encrypted data is stored on your device storage
  • We do not access or decrypt this data on our servers

7.2 In-Transit Security

  • All communications between the app and ad networks use HTTPS encryption
  • Ad requests and consent data are transmitted securely

7.3 No Personal Data Servers

  • We do not maintain servers that store barcode or personal data
  • No cloud backups of your codes or history are created
  • Your data stays on your device

7.4 Limitations

⚠️ Important: While we implement reasonable security measures, no security system is 100% impenetrable. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the Internet or stored on your device. If your device is compromised, your data could be at risk.

       

8. Children’s Privacy

CodeForge Pro is not intended for children under 13 years of age.

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
  • If we discover that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it
  • Parents/guardians who believe their child’s data was collected should contact us immediately

For children ages 13-18, parental consent is recommended before downloading the app.
